Characteristics

  • Obverse: On the left, allegorical of a seated woman with a sailing ship at right and Coat of Arms at left. On the right, allegorical of a seated woman with a wheel. In the center,, the issuer name "BANCO DE MARACAIBO", the legend of the capitalization amount "CAPITAL 2.500.000", "COMPAÑÍA ANÓNIMA", the denomination in words "CIEN BOLÍVARES" «one hundred Bolívares» and the payment clause "Que se pagaran al portador a su presentacion en las oficinas del banco" «Payable to bearer in the office of the bank». In each corner the denomination both value and words "100 / CIEN". On the bottom, the signatures zone and the denomination value "100" in each side. On the top, the date filling space "Maracaibo, _____ de 188__".
  • Reverse: Design in blue. In the center, the denomination value "100" within a guilloche.
