General: Circular shape with continous grained edge.
Obverse: Circular rim with dentacles beading. In the center, over the field, bust of Simon Bolivar facing right (from the viewer's perspective) with "BARRE" below (from the original engraver), surrounded by the legends "Bolívar" at left and "LIBERTADOR" at right.
Reverse: Circular rim with dentacles beading. In the center, over the field, Coat of Arms with a wild horse running toward the right looking at left (from the viewer's perspective), and with the motto "INDEPENDENcia", "LIBERTAD", "5 DE JULIO 1811", "28 DE MARZO 1864" and "DIOS Y FEDon". Surrounding the field, the country name "ESTADOS UNIDOS DE VENEZUELA" «United States of Venezuela», the weight "GR. 3,2258" and the year.
Conmemotative motive: Centenary of the death of the Liberator Simón Bolívar.
Circulation note: Only 10% of the mintage were in circulation. The remaining were stored as Nation Gold Reserve.
Composition observation: There is no precise information about the metal used to alloy the Gold. Some sources says 10% silver and others 10% copper.
